The Recreation Boating Facilities Scheme (RBFS) provides grants to state, local and other government authorities to plan, construct and upgrade public boating infrastructure to benefit the Western Australian boating community.
The Recreation Boating Facilities Scheme (RBFS) provides grants to state, local and other government authorities to plan, construct and upgrade public boating infrastructure to benefit the Western Australian boating community.
The RBFS supports projects that:
- Improve recreational boating access to navigable waters
- Enhance the safety of recreational boating infrastructure
- Reduce the environmental impact of recreational boating facilities
- Deliver new and improved recreational boating infrastructure
- Ensure consultation with recreational boating organisations.
- Funds are available for the planning, construction or upgrade of facilities such as boat
- launching ramps, jetties, moorings, breakwaters and channels directly related to pulic recreational boating. Land based infrastructure at these facilities is also eligible, such as trailer parking areas, toilets and boating signage.
Grant funding of up to $750,000 is available and will cover up to 75% of the project cost.
Applicants must be based in WA and be one of the following:
- Local Government authority
- State Government department
- Statutory authority responsible for recreational boating facilities.
The facility must be licensed to an eligible authority and accessible to the recreational boating public.
Note: Volunteer marine rescue groups, community groups or individuals seeking an RBFS grant will need to liaise with an eligible authority to prepare and apply.
