Gary is a Partner in the Audit & Assurance division in Sydney. He has over 25 years’ experience in the profession. He joined the firm in 2008 from RSM in South Africa

Gary is an expert in statutory audits of ASX listed companies and large private companies, especially in the mid and micro-cap segments.

His portfolio is diverse, and covers various sectors including Retail, Manufacturing, Technology, Mineral and Mining, Education, Hospitality, and Import and Distribution. He also serves many Foreign Controlled Companies and AFSL licence holders. Gary is driven by his passion for building professional and meaningful relationships with his clients and delivering exceptional client experiences. He sees every challenge as a learning and growth opportunity and excels at finding robust and tailored solutions for complex situations.

Although Gary has spent most of his professional working life with RSM, he worked in banking in London during the early 2000s.

Gary enjoys establishing strong and trusting relationships with his clients so much that he has never said "no" to a client lunch. He loves a good feed and the occasional cheeky beer.

Outside of work, Gary is passionate about sport. After playing several sports throughout the years, Gary always finds himself returning to golf. He finds the challenge quite addictive. He also enjoys playing darts and pool.

LARGE PRIVATE COMPANY AUDITS

Gary has developed a niche is servicing large private clients that are typically owned by family offices. He prides himself on the relationship he develops with his clients and strives to deliver outstanding client service at all times. He has a practical yet ethical approach to auditing, and his additional previous qualifications facilitate a commercial and efficient approach to auditing. He is cost conscious and considerate of his client’s needs and their budget.

CAPITAL MARKETS

Gary has worked with several start-up businesses to take them through the process of listing on the ASX. Whilst his primary role is managing the financial reporting aspects of listing, he provides support throughout the process and often forms part of the Due Diligence Committee as an observer. Gary understands the practical complexities that go with being audited for the first time and guides his clients through the process within the bounds of our independence guidelines.

GLOBAL AUDITS

Gary has led a number of large, complex global multi-national audit engagements with numerous overseas subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures. His depth of international experience enables him to coordinate global audits in a seamless and efficient manner.
