The QLD Ignite Ideas Fund aims to support projects to commercialise highly innovative and new products at minimum viable product stage or beyond.
Applicants are highly regarded in (but not limited to) the following focus areas:
- Tourism industry development through ecotourism, sustainable aviation, and housing solutions for staff in regional areas
- Waste technologies focusing on recycling materials at end-of life, reducing environmental litter, and minimising pollution from manufacturing facilities
- Protecting the Great Barrier Reef, including runoff management practices
- Safeguarding private protected areas by enhancing landholder knowledge of biodiversity conditions and fire management.
- The fund is designed to strengthen key industries, diversify the economy, compete in domestic and global markets, engage and benefit regional Queensland, and create jobs now and into the future.
Two tiers of grant funding are available:
- Tier 1: Up to $100,000 for projects of up to 12 months duration
- Tier 2: Range between $100,000 and $200,000 for projects up to 24 months duration
A cash contribution from the applicant is required.
Queensland-based businesses that:
- Have an ABN
- Are registered for GST
- Employ no more than 50 people
- Have not received funding for the proposed project from either state, federal or local government.
Expression of interest applications close 3 June 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application.
