The new Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grant has just opened and supports the Queensland Government’s commitment to unlocking the full potential of the state’s manufacturing industry by boosting innovation and creating high-value jobs.

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

The TQMGP will support eligible Queensland-based manufacturing SMEs to improve manufacturing productivity and competitiveness through investment in advanced manufacturing equipment.

Grants are available for:

  • Advanced manufacturing equipment
  • Software purchasing to support system integration and manufacturing process improvement; e.g. enterprise resource planning (ERP), materials requirements planning (MRP), manufacturing execution systems (MES).

Projects should aim to:

  • Facilitate pathways for export opportunities
  • Reshore and onshore manufacturing activity currently undertaken interstate or overseas
  • Improve manufacturing productivity and competitiveness
  • Stimulate private sector investment and generate jobs.

Grants are available between $100k and $1.5 million. Funding must be matched with a minimum 50% co-contribution.

The total grant funding pool for Round 1 is $12.5 million.

Applicants must hold an ABN, be registered for GST and:

  • Have a majority manufacturing turnover or be part of a structure that has majority manufacturing turnover
  • Have 5-200 full time equivalent (FTE) employees or be part of a structure that has 5-200 FTE employees
  • Have a project site in Queensland
  • Have an existing manufacturing presence in Queensland, employ at least 5 FTEs in the state, and have operated in Queensland for at least the past 3 consecutive years
  • Be purchasing advanced manufacturing equipment with Industry 4.0/5.0 features or software to support system integration (e.g. ERP, MRP, MES)
  • Be the manufacturing entity that will own any equipment to be purchased under the project.
