Adil Malik
Senior Accountant - Business Advisory

Adil Malik is a Senior Accountant in the Business Advisory division in the Albury office.

Adil specialises in business advisory, taxation and accounting services for individuals, family groups, SMEs and larger private businesses.

With more than two years of experience in public practice, he works with regional and middle market businesses, private groups and family-owned enterprises across the aged care, agribusiness, education and health sectors. Adil advises clients on accounting, taxation and business advisory matters, with a particular interest in business structuring, tax planning and complex tax solutions. He is known for helping clients work through technical tax issues in a practical way, enabling them to better understand their options and make informed decisions that support both their immediate needs and long-term financial goals.

Adil has prepared comprehensive tax planning projections for a large private business group and its key stakeholders, modelling projected tax liabilities and assessing opportunities to minimise tax before year-end. By presenting a range of scenarios and explaining the implications of each approach, he helped the client make informed decisions aligned with their financial objectives.

He has also been involved in a complex restructuring project for a family-owned business group, analysing the application of Division 152 capital gains tax concessions alongside asset ownership structures, succession planning objectives and future tax outcomes. Working closely with senior advisers, Adil contributed to developing practical recommendations that supported the family's long-term business and wealth planning goals.

Another rewarding engagement involved assisting a family business with succession planning and reviewing alternative ownership structures. By helping the client understand the tax implications and available concessions, the advice provided greater certainty around future planning and supported confident decision-making for the next generation.

"I believe good advice should make complex issues easier to understand. My role is to help clients make informed decisions with confidence by providing practical solutions that support their business and financial objectives."

Solutions Adil provides

Outside of work, Adil enjoys exploring different cuisines, listening to music and travelling to remote parts of Australia. Camping and discovering places off the beaten track are some of his favourite ways to spend time away from the office.
