Bookkeeper - Katanning

Leana Liebenberg is a bookkeeper in RSM’s Business Advisory team in Katanning.

She supports clients across the Great Southern region with practical, reliable bookkeeping and Xero support.

With five years at RSM and more than 25 years of bookkeeping experience, Leana helps businesses and organisations move from time consuming, manual processes to clearer, more efficient systems that make day to day financial administration easier.

Leana’s day to day work spans the full bookkeeping lifecycle, including email management for finance workflows, accounts payable, payroll and super, management reporting, and ongoing Xero support.

She regularly sets clients up in Xero, provides one on one training, and helps teams build confidence using automated features that reduce rework and save time. Leana also reviews and provides feedback on assistant accountant work, monitors workflow, and allocates tasks to keep deliverables on track. From time to time, she also assists with tax returns and tax estimates where needed.

With a strong background in agribusiness and regional operations, Leana brings a practical understanding of what client’s need from their bookkeeping, accuracy, visibility, and systems that work in the real world.

Prior to relocating to Australia, Leana and her family owned and operated a livestock farming business in Namibia.

Over more than 20 years in the farming industry, she developed hands on operational knowledge and managed the business’s bookkeeping and financial administration end to end. This experience continues to inform the way she supports clients today, especially those in agribusiness, not for profit, property and construction, and trade based businesses.

A highlight of Leana’s work has been supporting outsourcing bookkeeping arrangements for local CRCs in her region, helping organisations strengthen their processes and reporting. She is particularly keen to work with government and public sector clients, bringing a steady, service focused approach and a passion for improving systems. Leana is known for making a noticeable difference when transitioning clients from outdated platforms into Xero. Helping to streamline workflows, improve data quality, and creating clearer reporting so clients can make decisions with confidence.

Outside the office, Leana fosters kittens for a rescue organisation and especially loves bottle feeding orphaned babies. She’s hand reared everything from kittens, lambs, goats and calves to more unusual wildlife. Leana also loves music and dancing and goes boot scooting every week.
