Mitch Cramey is a Partner in the Corporate and International Tax Division in Adelaide.

With a career spanning nearly two decades in corporate and international tax advisory, Mitch brings a wealth of experience and insight to his role at RSM.

Prior to joining RSM, Mitch spent 18 years at a Big Four firm, including a global secondment to Vancouver, Canada. Mitch has carved out a niche helping both outbound Australian companies and inbound multinational groups navigate complex international tax environments and has deep sector specialisation in the Defence, Technology and Agribusiness sectors.

Whether working with an emerging start-up or a multinational company, throughout his career, Mitch has led significant projects that demonstrate his ability to combine deep technical knowledge with a pragmatic, commercial mindset. 

Examples of significant projects Mitch has led over the years include:

• Represented clients on a number of tax controversy matters with domestic and foreign tax authorities including Unilateral and Bilateral Advance Pricing Arrangements (APA) negotiations, Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) negotiations and ATO reviews/audits
• Assisted clients obtained ATO private and public binding rulings to provide go forward certainty on a range of complicated tax issues.
• Assisted clients with outbound expansion into North America, Europe and Asia by providing international tax structuring advice and developing transfer pricing policies to ensure structures provide tax efficient outcomes and hold up to scrutiny from tax authorities worldwide.
• Undertaken numerous tax due diligence projects for both buy-side and sell-side transactions ensuring key material risks are appropriately identified and quantified.

Outside of work, Mitch is a self-confessed DIY enthusiast, with varying degrees of success, and avid trail runner.  Above all, Mitch values quality time with his family, whether it's a weekend camping trip, a kick of footy at the oval, or a day hiking outdoors in the Adelaide hills (with somewhat begrudging participants). These moments keep him grounded and energised, providing a strong foundation for everything he does professionally.
