Meet our new leaders with a passion for shaping futures
RSM Australia is growing. We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners and three new principals across the Sydney and Melbourne offices, increasing the RSM national team to 96 Partners and 43 Principals in 2017.
Effective 1st January 2017, these new appointments are established RSM staff members who are well-known to our clients. Each new Partner or Principal brings a wealth of experience to a range of critical service areas for clients.
Our new 2017 leaders are:
- Arlene Kristianto – Partner (Sydney), Business Advisory
- Evan Tsipas – Partner (Melbourne), Financial Services
- David Mutton – Principal (Melbourne), Restructuring and Recovery
- Rafael Morillo Maldonado – Principal (Melbourne), Assurance & Advisory
- Mathavan Parameswaran – Principal (Melbourne), Assurance & Advisory
RSM National Chairman, Jamie O’Rourke said, “Each year, we set a goal to build our national team enabling RSM to continue to meet the traditional, emerging and complex needs of our clients”.

Meet the team
With over 12 years of professional accounting experience, Arlene has been providing business and tax advisory services to clients across a wide range of industries, including property developers, IT professionals, consultants, solicitors and medical practitioners. Arlene is able to provide sound advice and solutions to small and medium business and high net worth individuals. Arlene their also assists a number of Australian subsidiaries of multinational businesses.
Evan joined RSM in 2002 and has significant experience advising clients on investments, risk protection, superannuation, retirement planning and aged care matters. He combines practical experience and postgraduate qualifications to assist clients in making informed decisions to achieve their financial goals and objectives.
Rafael has over 18 years of experience in providing quality audit and technical accounting advice, predominantly in the private sector. He has experience in a wide variety of industries, such as mining, manufacturing and the financial services sector. His engagements have included entities that hold Australian Financial Services License (AFSL), insurance entities regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) as well as Health Insurance entities previously regulated by the Private Health Insurance Administration Council. Rafael has an in-depth knowledge of the Australian Auditing Standards and the Australian Accounting Standards (AASs) and its application.
David has been an integral member of RSM’s national Restructuring and Recovery division since 2010. He provides expert advice to our clients in the specialities of financial viability assessments and solvency reviews, official and voluntary liquidation, receivership and other controllerships, voluntary administration, as well as an investigative accountant and forensic roles. David is also a registered company liquidator and official liquidator of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court of Australia.
Mathavan is a Principal of the Assurance & Advisory division in Melbourne. He has over 14 years’ experience in delivering external audit and assurance services to publicly listed companies, not for profit organisations and private companies. Mathavan has delivered audit services to a wide variety of clients from various industries including health, technology, and distribution.
