The peak body for geospatial professionals, The Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA), was yesterday placed into voluntary administration.
The not-for-profit organisation, which represents the professionals and organisations within the surveying, space and spatial industries, appointed RSM Australia Partners Frank Lo Pilato and Jonathon Colbran as Joint and Several Voluntary Administrators at a board meeting on Monday 26 May 2025.
RSM Australia Partner Frank Lo Pilato said the organisation will continue to trade throughout the voluntary administration process.
“The Geospatial Council of Australia Board and CEO are committed to seeing the organisation work through the administration process and continue its role representing, supporting and advocating for the geospatial industry,” Mr Lo Pilato said.
“As part of our investigations into the organisation’s financial affairs, we will be working closely with the GCA CEO and Board to determine the best path forward for the organisation.
“At the time of our appointment, the organisation has approximately 2,300 members and will continue to service those members to the best of its ability during this process.
“We understand the important role the GCA plays for the industry, and we appreciate the patience and support from their members and the wider industry as we work through the process.”
Administrators will write to members and creditors this week to advise them of their appointment and outline the rights of creditors and the steps involved in a voluntary administration.
