The Climate-Smart Agriculture Program - Partnerships and Innovation Grants is a funding opportunity that may be relevant to businesses within the agribusiness space. 

Please note the need for a consortium approach to the Partnerships and Innovation stream requiring both an “applicant” and a “knowledge partner” such as a university or government.

Partnerships and Innovation grants will foster sustainable agricultural and natural resource management innovation. The grants will support projects that:

  • assist natural resource-dependent agrifood businesses to improve their sustainability, productivity, profitability and ability to adapt to changes in markets and supply chains; or
  • develop and promote the uptake of industry sustainability frameworks and credentials to improve market access.

Applications must involve a consortium of partners with one appointed as the ‘applicant’. Consortia must include at least one knowledge partner such as a university, research organisation or government agency.

A diverse range of entity types are eligible including:

  • Companies and incorporated associations
  • Indigenous corporations
  • Local government
  • Cooperatives
  • State and Commonwealth entities
  • Partnerships and sole traders

Grants between $250,000 and $5 million are available. The total funding pool is up to $45 million.
