The Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund seeks to advance the resource recovery sector by supporting projects that:
- Improve the quality of recycled materials
- Increase the use and market demand for recycled materials in new products
- Enhance domestic capacity for reprocessing of target materials, including:
- Hard-to-recycle plastics
- E-waste (e.g. PV panels, batteries, vapes)
- Tyres processed into crumb rubber
- Liquid paperboard / packaging board
- Textiles
Project costs should focus on the procurement of new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
The program is designed to build the sector’s capacity, capability and resilience, helping Victorian businesses to adapt to the national export ban on waste materials, improve material quality and create jobs within the circular economy.
Grants range between $50,000 and $500,000. A matching contribution from the applicant is required.
Victorian reprocessing and/or remanufacturing facilities that have an ABN and are one of the following:
- Australian company
- Social enterprise
- Local government organisation
- Non-for-profit organisation
Applicants must have been operating for at least two years.
Applications close 1 July 2026.
