Pushpinder Singh - Partner

Pushpinder Singh is a Partner in the Risk Advisory division in Sydney

Pushpinder works closely with boards, audit and risk committees, C-suite executives and senior leadership teams to help organisations strengthen performance and build stakeholder confidence through effective governance, risk management and assurance.

Drawing on extensive experience across Australia, the United Kingdom and the Asia-Pacific region, he advises financial services organisations on internal audit, enterprise risk management and corporate governance. His expertise helps organisations navigate increasingly complex regulatory environments, improve control effectiveness and establish practical frameworks that support long-term growth and informed decision-making.

Before joining RSM in 2026, Pushpinder served as the Chief Audit Executive for Liberty Mutual Insurance across Asia Pacific, leading the internal audit function across multiple jurisdictions and managing assurance activities within highly regulated environments. Prior to this, he was a Partner at KPMG, where he led the Sydney Financial Services Governance, Risk and Controls Advisory practice. Having worked in both senior executive and advisory leadership roles, he brings a balanced perspective on the challenges organisations face in meeting regulatory expectations while delivering commercial outcomes.

Pushpinder specialises in internal audit, enterprise risk management, risk assurance, business transformation, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), anti-money laundering (AML) and governance reviews. He has significant experience supporting financial services organisations to enhance risk maturity, strengthen control environments and respond to evolving regulatory and business challenges. His experience also includes establishing and transforming internal audit functions, assessing governance effectiveness, designing enterprise-wide assurance frameworks and leading large-scale risk and control transformation programs.

"The best outcomes come from building long-term relationships and helping clients solve challenges before they become problems. I enjoy working alongside leadership teams to create practical governance and risk solutions that deliver lasting value."

Known for his strategic perspective and collaborative approach, Pushpinder works with leadership teams to deliver solutions that create lasting value. He is particularly recognised for helping organisations move beyond identifying risks to embedding practical governance and assurance mechanisms that improve accountability, support strategic decision-making and increase confidence among regulators, investors and other stakeholders.

Whether advising multinational institutions or middle-market organisations, Pushpinder combines deep technical expertise with strategic insight to help clients build resilient, well-governed organisations that can confidently deliver sustainable performance, strengthen stakeholder confidence and create long-term value.

Outside of work, Pushpinder enjoys supporting his son's sporting activities and spending time with his family. Whenever possible, they enjoy travelling together and exploring new destinations.

SOLUTIONS Pushpinder PROVIDES

Significant projects

  • Pushpinder assisted a major financial services organisation with an independent assessment of its enterprise risk management framework and control environment. The engagement involved reviewing governance arrangements, evaluating the effectiveness of risk management practices and testing key controls across the business. The work provided senior leadership with greater confidence in the organisation's control environment while identifying practical opportunities to strengthen governance and improve operational resilience.
  • He has led numerous high-profile internal audit engagements across the financial services sector as Engagement Partner, supporting organisations from emerging institutions through to some of the largest and most complex market participants. These engagements delivered improvements in governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and control effectiveness.
  • He also developed comprehensive Controls Assurance Frameworks for the Risk Function at a large Australian Life Insurer, as well as at a major Australian Health Insurer. This included establishing governance policies, procedures and minimum control standards to create greater consistency across the organisation. The framework enabled the business to strengthen oversight, improve accountability and support ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Throughout his career, Pushpinder has led numerous targeted internal control reviews as well as APRA thematic reviews for large Australian financial services organisations. These projects involved identifying control weaknesses across critical business processes, recommending practical remediation strategies and helping organisations embed stronger governance practices. The result has been improved control effectiveness and regulatory compliance, reduced operational risk and increased confidence among boards, regulators and executive management.
  • Pushpinder also enjoys helping clients navigate broader business challenges beyond regulatory compliance. One particularly rewarding engagement involved supporting a business owner through a period of significant growth and succession planning. By coordinating specialists from across RSM and helping develop a clear strategic roadmap, he provided practical guidance that gave the client confidence to make informed long-term decisions.
