Michelle Ewing
Senior Manager - Bunbury
Michelle Ewing is a Senior Manager in the Bunbury Business Advisory division.
With nearly two decades of experience in public practice accounting, Michelle brings a practical, client-first approach to supporting regional small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) across Western Australia.
Michelle’s career is marked by its breadth and depth. After initially starting with RSM, she spent six years refining her skills before exploring roles in corporate accounting and then returning to public practice, where her passion for client service and business advisory truly lies. Having also worked within internal accounting teams through secondments, Michelle offers clients a rare dual perspective, understanding both the technical requirements of compliance and reporting, and the day-to-day operational realities businesses face on the ground.
This well-rounded experience allows Michelle to deeply connect with her clients, particularly regional business owners who are new to running their own ventures. She excels at demystifying the complexities of business structures, software systems, GST obligations, and financial reporting. Michelle takes pride in empowering clients to better understand their numbers, not just as a compliance necessity, but as a tool for smarter decision-making and long-term success.
"I love helping regional business owners cut through the complexity, understand their numbers, and build confidence in the decisions they make every day."
Michelle works closely with a wide range of local businesses in Bunbury and the greater South West region, with a special interest in supporting regional SMEs through their growth journeys. Whether helping a startup choose the right structure and accounting software, or guiding an established business through tax and compliance changes, she is focused on delivering prompt, reliable, and practical advice that clients can understand and trust.

One of the defining features of Michelle’s approach is her emphasis on responsiveness. For Michelle, making a difference doesn’t always mean solving grand problems, it’s often about being there when clients need support, no matter how big or small the task. She believes consistent, proactive service builds trust, which is the foundation of every strong client relationship.
Beyond her technical work, Michelle is a passionate mentor and thrives on training junior team members. She finds immense satisfaction in helping others grow professionally and reach their goals, believing that the development of her team is as critical as the delivery of quality outcomes to clients. Her focus on continuous learning ensures she remains at the forefront of evolving advisory practices, while also fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Michelle’s career journey is as inspiring as it is diverse. Prior to entering the accounting world, she spent six years living in London working in IT support. Returning to Australia, she continued in IT before taking the leap to study accounting as a mature-age student, while pregnant with her second child. This personal journey has shaped her empathetic and practical style, and it resonates strongly with clients who appreciate her real-world insight and relatable approach.
When she's not working with clients or mentoring colleagues, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family. She’s a proud grandmother of two young girls and loves organising family games nights. A keen sports fan, she’s been playing in her local corporate beach volleyball league for over 25 years and relishes cheering on her son during WAFL season. These interests bring balance to her life and speak to her fun, competitive spirit.
